About Me
I’m Tom and I want to help people reach their health and fitness goals with all of the knowledge and experience I have learned and continue to discover.
I have always been an active person and growing up I tried every possible sport. I played football, basketball and athletics mostly and by the age of 15, I was playing and training with the town basketball team 3 times a week. I was a naturally energetic kid and growing up I was fit and a good runner but also skinny. As a child, being active and sporty was something I wanted to make something I always did but didn’t take it as seriously as I now wish I had.
At the age of 22, I joined the British Army and spent 10 years in the infantry. In that time I completed 2 tours in Kabul, Afghanistan, and trained in Kenya, Canada, America and the Falkland Islands. I got the chance to take part in many different sports including skiing, rock climbing, kayaking, mountain biking, cross country and football. This helped me become even fitter and I made sure that I was one of the fittest people in my unit.
Although I was fit and could run forever I came to realise that my physical ability was being hindered by my lack of strength and muscle mass. I started to look at how I could become bigger and stronger without sacrificing too much of my running ability. But being in the Army meant that I would move around a lot and spend time in conditions that made training and working towards my own goals extremely difficult. This made me look more and more into what I can do to work towards my own goals and eventually sparked the idea of becoming a personal trainer. Now I work towards building the best possible body I can through physical training, eating the best diet, and managing my stress and mind.
One of the biggest things I have learnt is that a lot of the work we do and the rewards we get are based on a strong foundation of the way we think and see the world. When I completed my training and become qualified as a personal trainer I completed different modules including Life Coaching. My course, and other information, have helped me to consider the best way to help people reach their goals. I can give you the perfect exercise program and meal plan to follow but making it work and fitting it into your life without feeling miserable and unmotivated is one of the biggest things that most people don’t even consider.
If you’re looking to transform your body, fitness and health you can book a free consultation with me before signing up to find out if my coaching is right for you.
